Columbia Gorge Research is committed to developing innovative, cost-effective fiber optic sensor solutions for our customers' applications. These efforts have often resulted in the generation of strong intellectual property positions and patents. Columbia Gorge Research personnel have experience supporting over 50 issued US patents as well as many international cases.

In addition, Columbia Gorge Research can assess and make recommendations on improving and extending the intellectual property base of its customers. Examples of fields of commercial application that have been supported include aerospace and defense, oil and gas, electric power, medical and robotics.

In certain situations, Columbia Gorge Research has engaged in licensing and exchange of intellectual property with commercial companies for mutual benefit.

Support for companies involving in patent disputes and litigation:

Columbia Gorge Research personnel have supported companies involved in patent disputes by offering analysis, opinions and reports with respect to patent positions. This can occur before or during patent litigation.

Expert witness services may also be available. Cases are undertaken only after an initial review.
